Holiday wishes

It’s not too early to start thinking ahead

I don’t know about you but that holiday spirit is already beginning to take hold. I love the holidays. I know the calendar says it’s still early November, but those short bursts of crisp air, the smell of wood smoke and the annual influx of holiday catalogs to the mail box tell me it’s not too early to start preparing.

Even though my jack-o-lantern has yet to show the earliest hints of wilting, I am primed and ready for the treats the next few months hold in store. Egg nog, caroling, carving a great big turkey at Thanksgiving, deer season, and outdoor decorations is just a small sampling of what is on my list. And do I even need to mention the next chapter in the state’s Bedlam Series? Maybe some of you share my passion for this time of year and have long lists of your own.

So far 2008 has been quite a year for all of us. Not all the news has been good and, as I write this, we still have a very big election to deal with. Everywhere you look it’s being referred to as an election of change. Regardless of who wins I have a firm belief the country will bounce back stronger, and wiser, than before. It’s what we do.

As year end approaches, we at Eastman National Bank extend our good wishes to all for the holiday season and the coming year. We add our sincere thanks for your continued business and look forward to working with each and every one of you in 2009.
